Tooth transmigration is an exceptionally rare anomaly. It is associated with tooth impaction and migration. Tooth extraction is the most common method to treat this abnormality.

Aim
The objective of the paper is to present a case of a female patient in whom extraction of a transmigrated lower canine was performed for orthodontic purposes, followed by augmentation of a bone defect with autogenous low-molecular-weight dentin graft.

Case report
The paper presents a case of a 24-year-old female patient diagnosed with a transmigrated right lower canine and considered eligible for extraction for orthodontic purposes. Augmentation of a bone deficit with autogenous lowmolecular-weight dentin graft and platelet-rich fibrin obtained from the patient’s blood was also performed.

Results and conclusions
Autologous low-molecular-weight dentin graft is an alternative to natural and synthetic materials, providing good outcomes. The chemical composition of dentin is similar to that of bone. Another benefit of this method is lack of risk of transmission of pathogenic factors, because material obtained is autogenous, from the same donor. Moreover, it is not necessary to perform additional procedures to obtain material for augmentation. Treatment applied in this case was a clinical and radiological success. Despite good clinical and radiological outcomes in this case, there are no studies on orthodontic teeth movements after augmentation procedures with low-molecular-weight dentin graft, and therefore further studies are recommended in this field.
